High Moisture Biomass, High Plastics Content, Tires

Perma Pure recommends the GASS 2040.

Typical medical and/or plastics waste has a high moisture content and requires the GASS2040 to remove the high volume of water. Whenever plastics are burned high levels of chlorine are released and wet scrubbers are typically used to remove it, humidifying the sample gas. Because HCl is highly soluble in water, the sample gas must be dried in the vapor phase to enable accurate measurements. Additionally, very low permitted levels of gasses are allowed. Incinerators burning plastics and tires are very tightly regulated and have very low permitted levels of HCl, SO2 and NOx. Additionally, Because HCL is a poor absorber of IR, it is very difficult to measure at a 2.5 ppm level. The GASS2040 is the only gas sample conditioner that preserves the low levels of HCl, SO2 and NOx intact prior to analysis. Link to Perma Pure GASS2040 Sampling System Information.

Everyday Waste

Perma Pure recommends the Baldwin Digital Cooler

Depending on the permitted levels, the Digital Cooler can be used for applications greater than 500ppm. For lower levels, the GASS2040 is required. Link to Baldwin Digital Cooler Information.

Improve Reliability of Cooler-Based CEMS
with the SDS Supplemental Dryer / Low Dewpoint Polisher

SDS Nafion™ Tubing Supplemental Drying System – Where Thermoelectric coolers are hard-specified or already installed in the application, Perma Pure recommends the SDS Nafion™ Tubing Drying System to lower the dew point of the sample once it leaves the cooler. Meant to be used in conjunction with an existing gas cooler based conditioning system, the Nafion™ tubing -based SDS (Supplemental Drying System) is available to further reduce the acid dew point of the sample gas. The SDS can reach a dew point of – 15 C, in many cases eliminating the acid mist problem common to CEMS applications using standard gas coolers or chillers.
